Grounded in Goodness

Welcome to

Spread the Loaves

What began in a home kitchen after a winter storm in 2021 is now a bakery in the heart of Old Town Helotes. Every loaf is naturally leavened with our own sourdough starter, Kuchi Kopi, and given a two to three day ferment for real flavor and texture. Owned and run by Sophie Jeffery and Justin Sparkman, we're proud to be part of your weekly routine.

What's Coming Out of the Oven

Sourdough loaves and brioche pastries, all baked fresh in-house. Menu changes weekly, check what's coming out of the oven.

A Fixture in Old Town Helotes

You'll find us tucked into the Shops at Old Town Helotes, Wednesday through Saturday, 9am to 2pm. We bake fresh daily, and once the shelves are picked over, they're gone until next week.

Words from Our Community

"Very fresh and tasty bread! Highly recommend!"

— Quinn Li

"When you think of a bakery. THIS. IS. IT! Been coming here since the beginning. All the scratch made items we've tried have been bangers. From sandwiches to pop tarts and kolches' & Especially the sourdough loaves. Everything is always top tier."

— Lee Snyder

"If it wasn't for my constant need to lose weight id be here every day they were open. Cinnamon rolls are great, the poptarts are excellent especially when they caramelize a bit on the edges. The sourdough focaccia flavors are always unique and always good."
